Christmas in New Zealand

Hi! I’m Rika.
I’m going talk about Christmas in NZ and Japan.
First, I talk about Christmas in NZ.
Christmas comes in the middle of the summer holidays. People buy presents and parties, families prepare for trips to the beach. Many towns have a Santa parade with decorated floats, bands and marching girls. In New Zealand the traditional Christmas dinner is roast turkey with vegetables and sauces. Dessert it is rich, fruity Christmas pudding with brandy sauce and Mince pies. In the Maori language Happy or Merry Christmas is 'Meri Kirihimete'
In Japan, There are less than 1% of Japan’s population is Christian. However, several customs have come to Japan from the U.S.A such as sending and receiving Christmas present. In Japan, Christmas Eve is often celebrated more than Christmas Day. Christmas Eve is thought of as a romantic day.
What’s your plan on Christmas Day? I wish your merry Christmas.
Thank you.
